Matilda Swanson Galleries is committed to supporting artists through sales, events, and building community connections.
Matilda Swanson Galleries recognizes the barriers of discrimination and disadvantage as a lived reality for many, and strives to always be open to learning how to better serve our community and create a welcoming space for all. Acknowledging that in the past galleries may have been inaccessible or unwelcoming for many, but especially marginalized folks, Matilda Swanson Galleries seeks to create an equity driven, collaborative environment, which is dedicated to welcoming and elevating historically discriminated or underrepresented people.
We do this through the regular expansion of the artists we carry to include those working to share their experiences as marginalized people through their artistic practices, and by offering space to those who might have been left out of commercial gallery situations historically.
